Pros and Cons of E-cigs
The HuffingtonPost is waying in on the “is e-cigs better for you than cigarettes” debate. They have Pros and Cons on the subject and talk about if it really helps you to quit smoking.
The article says…
“An electronic alternative is a less harmful way of consuming nicotine than smoking,” acknowledges Hazel Cheeseman, director of policy at Action on Smoking & Health.
“What many people don’t realize is that while smokers are addicted to nicotine, it is the smoke that kills them. Consuming nicotine through vapor rather than smoke is very much less harmful.”
But not everyone is buying the e-cig promise. Studies so far indicate that only a small number of regular smokers successfully wean themselves off from cigarettes using e-cigs, points out Jonathan Winickoff, chairman of the American Academy of Pediatrics Tobacco Consortium and a professor at Harvard Medical School.
DC Tax Of 67% On e-Cigarettes!
Are you kidding me!
67%… when is it going to stop?
The Daily Caller’s articles says…
D.C. Council Member Yvette Alexander announced Tuesday that the week of Sept. 20, 2015, would forever be known as “DC Calls It Quits Week.”
The announcement comes just one week before the city plans to implement a 67 percent tax on e-cigarettes, effectively taxing vape shops out of existence.
I was checking out just how many types of vaporizers and e-cig brands are available on the market today and I couldn’t believe how large the list is, in fact you can see a small list of vaporizers and you can also see that it isn’t going to let up any time soon.
So is vaping a fad or not?
The e-cigarette was invented in the 1960’s, however a significant increase in them didn’t happen until 2013. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says the percentage of people who used e-cigarettes was at only 3.3%. However in 2011 e-cigarette manufacturers kicked up their advertising from $6.4 million to $18.3 million annually, that is nearly triple!
